Samsung camcorders now with Wi-Fi

Samsung Q20 (the QF20 is the Wi-Fi version)

At CES today, Samsung debuts its first camcorder with Wi-Fi, the?QF20, which the company touts as the "grab-and-go companion" for busy young families.

One reason for that is the new Switch Grip II, which practically seems to guarantee non-herky-jerkiness when it comes to recoding from less than professional perspectives. The sensor inside recognizes the angle and adjusts the LCD display so the would-be filmmaker always feels in control. And now it includes?three recording angles.?

But the real kicker for this camcorder?? if you're willing to carry a separate gadget and go beyond your phone?? is its Wi-Fi connectivity, making the all-important sharing of precious moments easier. Users can also upload snippets through "My Clip," which allows for bookmarking during filming. That then translates into a highlights reel users can also upload. Also, those for whom music is an essential part of the video experience will be happy to know that no longer will they have to settle for canned music. Now they can incorporate their own music into clips, with a nice advantage of automatic dimming of sound when someone is talking.?

And for those who treat their digital equipment roughly, that's OK too, because you can shake this camcorder (but not like a Polaroid camera) to add random artistic effects to the shoot.?

The 5 megapixels camcorder also possesses a 20x optical zoom?and can record in?1080i full HD.?

It's due to come out in March for $299 to $349 (the non-Wi-Fi Q20 would be the cheaper model).?

In April, Samsung will also debut a $159 to $199 1080/30p full HD pocket camcorder with sporty outdoor types as its target: the W300. Water-proof up to five meters and supposedly shock-proof from two meters on high and dust-proof, it's clearly made for someone who leads a much more adventurous life than some (well, me). ?And it's also equipped with a?5M BSI CMOS Sensor and F/2.2 bright lens for low-light shooting.?
