Montclair and Hurricane Sandy: What Are You Cooking, Eating, Drinking

Hunkering down during Hurricane Sandy is safer than going out and trying to brave the storm. However, some eateries are open in Montclair? for now.

Plum on Park Street, is open, warm and cozy, says our intrepid Holly Korus, and the restaurant will stay open until the storm gets more dangerous. Villa Victoria in Montclair is open and delivering today ? they say until they lose power. Raymonds will close at 11 a.m. today. Toast and Belgiovines on Bloomfield Ave. were both open as of this posting; Starbucks in Upper Montclair was closed as is Whole Foods. Pathmark is open. Over at Cuban Pete?s, they are securing palm trees. Quick Check, Plato Cubano and Hot Bagels on Valley Road were open. Over at Watchung Plaza, Wahchung Chinese, Sunrise Bagel, Cafe Clair, Watchung Deli, Townhouse Wine, Rosarios ? open. On Walnut Street, Red Eye Cafe, Ray?s Luncheonette and Panzano Pizza ? open. On Grove ? Grove Liquor, Marlboro Bakery, Golden Dragon Chinese, Grove Pharmacy and Grove Deli. In Upper Montclair, A&P, Kings, Beyond the Bagel, Soho Pizza and Sandwich Theory were all open, but Brick Lane wasn?t taking any chances.
